"The power of the Web is in its universality. Access by everyone regardless of disability is an essential aspect." -- Tim Berners-Lee, W3C Director and inventor of the World Wide Web

Accessibility is giving people, whose disabilities prevent them from easily using a typical website, the same access as everyone else. Such disabilities may include low or no vision or the inability to use a mouse due to a physical limitation.

High Accessibility Website

In an effort to provide a website unconstrained by compromise (unfortunately required by the state of technology) we created a second, parallel website. We call this a High Accessibility Website. The High Accessibility website removes design compromises that reduce accessibility.

The High Accessibility version:

  • ...contains the same information as the regular website;
  • ...increases text contrast with darker colors and lighter backgrounds;
  • ...allows instant text resizing to very large sizes for easier viewing;
  • ...has low graphic loading for slower modems, a benefit to everyone;
  • ...lets the visitor operate the website using the keyboard instead of the mouse, if necessary;
  • ...redefines some of the site controls to make it easier for people who 'hear' websites (e.g., a blind person who uses a special program to 'read' the website);
